Christian Eriksen and Andrea Pinamonti are blocking Inter’s January transfer window, a report in the Italian media reiterated this evening.

As per FCInterNews.it, Antonio Conte thinks that a couple of signings could help give the Nerazzurri the extra push they need to win the Serie A title.

Multiple reports have stated though that before Inter can buy they must offload players, and Eriksen and Pinamonti are thought to be the main two names.

When it comes to Eriksen, chief executive Beppe Marotta recently reiterated that the Dane is destined to leave the club during this month, despite trying out a new play-maker role in last week’s Coppa Italia tie against Fiorentina.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio and some intermediaries are at work trying to find a club for the 28-year-old, and are sifting through the English market in a bid to find a buyer.

Eriksen would like a return to the Premier League, where he previously shone, and it would be ideal to return to Tottenham Hotspur, but it remains to be seen whether there would be the margins for him to return if Dele Alli leaves.

Moreover, Spurs coach Jose Mourinho is believed to want a player with different characteristics to those of Eriksen and the club is not attracted to the idea of taking on Eriksen’s bumper salary.

As for Pinamonti, there is an agreement in place with Benevento but until Conte has certainties over the acqusition of a fourth choice striker, he will not give the green light for Pinamonti to leave the club.

Inter’s intention is to sign a new striker on loan for six months, possibly without needing to shell out a large amount of money on wages.

If both players leave, Inter could sign one player but it cannot be excluded, cost permitting, that they may manage to bring in two players.

A striker will definitely be on the list as they look to bulk out their attacking department whilst a move for Alejandro Gomez remains tempting for the Nerazzurri.

Signing Gomez from Atalanta would be a big signing for Inter’s Scudetto aspirations because he would increase the club’s technical and tactical options but it will all depend on costs involved.
