Tottenham Hotspur will make an attempt to re-sign Christian Eriksen from Inter in the next few days, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.

As per Sky Sport Italia, Eriksen wishes to depart the Nerazzurri and has interest from several clubs in the Premier League who would be keen to arrange a loan deal for the midfielder.

Spurs are one of these clubs, but Inter have made it clear to them that if they want to take Eriksen on loan they must pay a fee in addition to covering all of his €7.5 million a year wages.

Given Eriksen’s salary it is very difficult for a move to happen, but Jose Mourinho’s side are expected to try to agree a deal nonetheless.

Sky’s report claims that Inter are not looking for other potentially interested clubs in Eriksen to pay a fee for the loan, explaining it is a specific request to Spurs after their fraught negotiations for the 28-year-old last January.

Eriksen has made 14 appearances under Antonio Conte this season, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.

He was again an unused substitute during last night’s Derby d’Italia victory over Juventus.
