Inter’s Name Will Remain FC Internazionale Milano Despite Reported Change, Italian Media Claim

Reports suggesting Inter will change their name from FC Internazionale Milano to Inter Milano in March were denied by a leading Italian journalist today.

Gazzetta dello Sport revealed this morning that the Nerazzurri would be changing their name and logo as part of a wide-ranging rebrand in the coming weeks.

La Repubblica journalist Franco Vanni, however, has now reported that the company name will continue to be FC Internazionale Milano.

As per his version of events, Inter will only be using the mooted new name, Inter Milano, as part of their marketing campaign for their new logo and merchandise.

Vanni also said the rebrand, which previous reports had said would be completed in March when Inter celebrate their 113th birthday, could take a little longer.

Inter are also expected to ditch their current logo, which they have used since 2014, and replace it with a very simple logo using the letters ‘I’ and ‘M’.

Vanni took to Twitter and posted: “A little bit of clarity.

“The club will remain FC Internazionale Milano, the company name does not change.

“‘Inter Milano’ will be the launch campaign for the new logo (merch, gaming etc).

“It was scheduled for March but, given current events, it could take longer.”
