Radja Nainggolan insists he bears no grudge against Inter and would be happy for the Nerazzurri if they won this season’s Serie A title.

Nainggolan rejoined Cagliari on a six-month loan deal earlier this month and played the full 90 minutes tonight as Eusebio Di Francesco’s side lost to league leaders AC Milan.

He made just seven appearances under Antonio Conte during the first half of the season and told Corriere dello Sport in an interview a fortnight ago that he was ‘hurt’ by how he was treated in previous months.

But, when asked by Sky Sport Italia about Inter’s win over Juventus last night, Nainggolan said: “I don’t need to have any regrets, I wanted to leave because I wanted to play and help Cagliari.

“I’m happy with my decision, if Inter win the league I’ll be happy for them.

“The rest doesn’t interest me, I’m focused on helping Cagliari secure survival.”

Inter are seven points clear of Juventus in the standings following their 2-0 win in the Derby d’Italia, earned courtesy of goals from Arturo Vidal and Nicolo Barella.

The Nerazzurri remain three points behind AC Milan at the top, however, with one game left before the first half of the league season concludes.
