Inter are expected to complete a move to sign Irish teenager Kevin Zefi from Shamrock Rovers in the coming weeks, as per a report in Ireland.

The talented attacker, who turns 16 in February, was linked with a move to the Nerazzurri last summer as well as Juventus.

The Independent reported tonight that Zefi’s family will move to Milan with the forward, although he already has family living in the region.

“The deal is now on the verge of completion,” Daniel McDonnell wrote.

“Zefi lined out for Shamrock Rovers II in the First Division in the latter half of 2020 season, gaining experience against adult opponents and he became the youngest scorer in League of Ireland history when he hit the target against Longford Town in September.

“Former Ireland international Stephen Carr is advising Zefi and he has attracted interest from a variety of clubs.”

Zefi rose to prominence last year after scoring twice in Ireland U-15’s 3-1 win over England U-15 in December 2019.

The player then scored a month later in a 2-0 win over Australia’s U-17 side.

The Irish forward was invited to train with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in March, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the teenager to stay at home.

Zefi will most likely join Inter’s Primavera side but will hope to eventually earn a place in Antonio Conte’s first-team squad in the coming seasons.
