Inter are optimistic they will manage to agree new deals for Alessandro Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez, according to a report in Italy tonight.

The Nerazurri met representatives for both players yesterday and reportedly made progress towards fresh contracts.

Neither deal has been given the green light yet, but Sky Sport Italia assured supporters there was little to suggest talks would fall through on either front.

Inter are likely to reach an agreement with Bastoni’s entourage before they can find a deal for Lautaro because the defender earns less money than El Toro.

Gazzetta dello Sport earlier reported Inter were hoping to remove Lautaro’s €111 million release clause in any fresh contract he signed.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side this season, most recently netting against Crotone on January 3 when he grabbed a hat-trick.

Bastoni is expected to double his salary when he signs his new deal with Inter, although the club’s financial difficulties could mean the new wages don’t kick in until next season.
