BC Partners will offer Inter’s owners Suning more than €800 million to buy the club within three weeks, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.

Sport Mediaset, as reported by FcInter1908.it, said talks between the parties were progressing at a rapid pace with a formal proposal from the British investment firm expected within 15 days.

It is not yet known whether Suning would accept the offer and sell Inter immediately or if they would proceed with a more gradual exit strategy from the club.

SM said no scenario could be excluded at present.

The report tallies with a story in Friday’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport, which said BC Partners were likely to make an offer for a majority stake in Inter during the first two weeks of February.

The Rome-based publication also denied claims that Suning could sell a stake in the club to a group of famous Nerazzurri fans, including former owner and president Massimo Moratti, as suggested elsewhere in Italy on Thursday.
