Antonio Conte is living and breathing Inter now after 18 months in charge of the Nerazzurri, an Italian media report argued today.

Inter supporters have had a mixed relationship with Conte since he was appointed in 2019, with unwilling to give him their full support due to his long history with arch rivals Juventus.

Friday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, however, argued nobody could question Conte’s commitment to making Inter the best club they can possibly be.

“Every so often he returns to talk about his past in Turin, but Conte’s head and heart live elsewhere now,” the Milanese publication argued.

“Month by month Inter has seeped into Conte’s skin.

“Some fans still see him as a Bianconeri man but the majority now recognise the Nerazzurri crest on his chest.”

Conte has helped Inter take the next step towards returning to their former glories, securing a second-place finish in Serie A last season – their highest finish since 2011 – and leading them to the final of the UEFA Europa League.

Inter have twice been eliminated from the Champions League at the group stage under his guidance, with this season’s exit earning Conte fierce criticism from all corners, but the overall trend is said to be one of clear improvement nonetheless.
