Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is ‘firmly convinced’ he wants to stay at the club, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Inter have no intention of selling El Toro and want to give him a new contract, and typically when there is a shared desire in these situations it is hard not to find an agreement.

Lautaro’s representatives were present at Inter headquarters on Wednesday and this report insists that they certainly were not just there for coffee and a catch-up, considering the current situation around the world due to COVID-19.

They would like their client to be given a new deal worth €7 million net per year, while Inter are prepared to offer the 23-year-old Argentine a new annual salary worth €5 million.

Talks over a new deal have begun and it will take some time, but TS say it is essential that an agreement is found soon in order to avoid any potential interference from other clubs.

Lautaro was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona last summer, but the Catalan giants’ interest has faded.
