Inter have given fans many reasons to question the capabilities of the current squad having crashed out of all European competitions and consistently dropping points against teams they should have dispatched in the league.

Even in matches where the team is dominant, they’ve managed to choke away points at the death just as they did against then 3rd place Roma.

But last weekend’s win against Juventus at the San Siro was a statement of intent. Juventus have haunted Inter Milan over the recent years.

The pressure of the match with its implication for the title race could have been too much for the team to handle. But they withstood the test and continue to apply pressure to cross stadium rivals AC Milan.

Should the team play the way they did last weekend, the Scudetto is well within their grasp.

Upcoming Matches:

Udinese vs Inter, Saturday January 23rd, Stadio Friuli, kickoff 18:00 CET

Inter vs AC Milan, Tuesday January 26th, Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, kickoff 20:45 CET

First Team Fitness:

Alexis Sanchez: In Sunday’s Derby D’Italia the Chilean forward suffered what appeared to be a thigh strain. Antonio Conte expressed concern about the severity of the injury, especially seeing as Sanchez had just returned from a spell on the sidelines.

Luckily he did not need any tests as he had only been experiencing muscle fatigue. He has already resumed training and will likely be available for selection.

He should be available to start one match and come off the bench in the other depending on what competition Conte decides to emphasize.
