AC Milan have been dealt a blow ahead of their Coppa Italia Quarter-Final clash against Inter after defender Pierre Kalulu was ruled out with injury.

The two city rivals square off at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday evening, though ANSA report that Kalulu will be unavailable, leaving Milan coach Stefano Pioli with a selection dilemma.

France U-20 international Kalulu was forced off in the second half of the Rossoneri’s heavy 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in Serie A yesterday after being caught in the abdomen by Hans Hateboer.

Whilst it is not expected to be a serious injury, the former Lyon defender is unlikely to recover in time for the Coppa Italia match and is set to be replaced in the starting line-up by Matteo Musacchio.

Milan are already without suspended first choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma after he was sent off in their penalty shootout victory over Torino in the last round. Romania international Ciprian Tatarasanu is expected to deputise in his place.
