Inter ought to be concerned that coach Antonio Conte lost his temper in a heated argument with referee Fabio Maresca in their goalless draw with Udinese, according to Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani.
Conte was shown a red card at the Dacia Arena yesterday after complaining about the amount of stoppage time added on, before engaging in a furious argument with Maresca in the tunnel after the final whistle.
Assistant Gabriele Oriali was also dismissed by Maresca in the same incident as tensions boiled over on the touchline, with Inter struggling to break through against the Zebrette.
TeleLombardia director Ravezzani took to social media to voice his concerns about the actions of Conte and suggested that the coach was feeling the pressure of a tight title race, with Inter just two points behind leaders AC Milan.
“Inter could have won in Udine with a bit more luck. The fact that Conte and Oriali were the first to lose their tempers shows the only real limitation with this team: the coach cannot manage the pressure. It is amazing and worrying that they could not do this,” Ravezzani tweeted in the aftermath of the match.
Following his red card, Conte faces a minimum one match touchline ban and will be unavailable for Inter’s home clash against Benevento on Saturday.
