After playing a starring role in his side’s 3-1 win over Napoli, Hellas Verona wing-back Federico Dimarco has been tipped as a solid option for Inter.

The 23-year-old is spending the season on loan at the Gialloblu from Inter and, after recovering from an early mistake, played a pivotal role in Verona’s Serie A victory today, netting a first half equaliser.

His performances this season have drawn praise from Italian journalist Franco Vanni and he took to Twitter to suggest the Italian U-21 international would fit perfectly into coach Antonio Conte’s side and would be an able replacement for Ashley Young.

Having only made six senior appearances for Inter across all competitions since graduating from the club’s Primavera side in 2014, Dimarco has spent much of his career on loan, with spells at Sion and Parma before joining Verona.

However, Vanni claimed that Dimarco was ready to slot into the first team at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza upon his return, tweeting: “Dimarco is a good full-back who excels on the left wing but struggles in a pure back three. He would be useful for Inter, even only as a reserve for Young (who I really like).”
