AC Milan legend Filippo Galli is confident the Rossoneri should be considered favourites for tomorrow’s Coppa Italia quarter-final against Inter.

Inter and AC Milan are due to face off at San Siro for what will be the second time this season and rather than three points being at stake, a place in this season’s Coppa Italia semi-finals is at stake, with the winner in the derby set to face Juventus or SPAL over two legs next month.

In an interview with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport today, Galli shared his belief that AC Milan are the better of the two sides and will come out victorious for the second time this term against their city rivals.

“AC Milan come into it with a deeper, more complete squad,” he started.

“Stefano Pioli practically has two players per position.

“The Rossoneri have improved lots in recent months while Inter have remained the same.

“Pioli has found a precious balance as the group is mature, they know they are strong but this awareness has never become arrogance.

“AC Milan will win as they are more consistent than Inter and they will be even more so in a one-off match.”

Inter are heading into the match off the back of a goalless draw with Udinese whilst AC Milan are coming into the match having been beaten 3-0 by Atalanta.

The Nerazzurri are two points behind their city rivals in the Serie A standings at the halfway stage of the campaign.
