Following his side’s 2-0 victory over Bologna in Serie A yesterday, Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo is predicting a tight battle for the Scudetto this season.
The Bianconeri secured a comfortable victory at the Allianz Stadium in the early kick-off on Sunday to move to within seven points of leaders AC Milan and just five from Inter, whilst having a game in hand.
Speaking in his press conference after Juventus’ victory, Pirlo insisted that his side were in the thick of a title race and could challenge both Milan and Inter, whilst warning that third-placed Roma and Napoli in sixth could not be discounted either.
Despite Milan losing 3-0 to Atalanta and Inter labouring to a goalless draw against Udinese on Saturday, the tactician remained adamant that the Milanese clubs were amongst the favourites for the title.
“Inter and Milan are two strong teams and share the goal of winning the Scudetto, just like us,” Pirlo declared at the Allianz Stadium following the Bianconeri’s victory.
“Roma and Napoli are also in this race too. It will be an exciting season and we will have to fight to the end with these four teams.”
Juventus bounced back from a 2-0 defeat to Inter in the Derby d’Italia last time out to seal victory over Bologna, courtesy of goals from midfielders Arthur and Weston McKennie.
