Inter’s majority shareholders Suning are in advanced talks to sell shares in the club, a leading Italian journalist confirmed today.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Chinese conglomerate are in advanced negotiations and it will soon be seen whether the negotiations are in relation to the sale of a minority or majority stake in Inter.

Di Marzio, who responded to a fan on Instagram seeking clarity over the situation, did not specify who Suning are in advanced negotiations with although based on other media reports, it can be safely presumed that the negotiations are with BC Partners.

BC Partners are conducting due diligence on Inter’s accounts on an exclusive basis and are expected to make an offer to buy into Inter at the start of February.

Responding to the fan, Di Marzio, who works for Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, said: “There are advanced negotiations.

“We will see if it’s for a minority or already for a majority stake.”
