Inter have retained 14th place in Deloitte’s 2021 Money League, with Juventus and Napoli also representing Serie A in the top 20.

The company have released their annual study of football finances, with clubs’ revenues decimated this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the 2018-19 season, Inter had a turnover of €346.6 million whereas last year, during the 2019-20 campaign, this decreased to an annual turnover of €291.5 million.

The Nerazzurri’s revenues have therefore dropped by €73.1 million, or 20%, while there was a 37% decrease in commercial revenues, driven largely by the expiry of several long-standing agreements worth around €45 million.

Deloitte explain that 19% of Inter’s turnover last year came from matchday revenue, 34% came from commercial revenue and the remaining 47% came from broadcast revenue.

Barcelona and Real Madrid both retained first and second spot with turnovers of €715.1 and €714.9 million while Bayern Munich replaced Manchester United in third place with the German’s turnover totalling €634.1 million.

Juventus had the largest turnover of all Italian clubs with their turnover totalling €397.9 million, which places them 10th overall.

Napoli ranked 19th, with Roma falling out of the top 20 after missing out on Champions League qualification last season.

Inter’s neighbours AC Milan are 30th in the standings with a turnover of €148 million.

Deloitte’s report estimated that the top 20 clubs in their league missed out on a combined total of €1.1 billion in revenue due to the financial implications of the pandemic.
