Ivan Perisic has rejected the chance to move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, according to a German broadcaster’s report this afternoon.

As per Sky Sports Deutschland, Hertha tested the waters with signing Perisic but he made it clear that he would prefer to stay at Inter and fight to win the Serie A title, rather than fight to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.

In any case, the Croatian international’s salary was well out of reach for Hertha, who are sitting in 14th place after 18 games played of the 2020-21 Bundesliga season.

Christian Eriksen also received interest from the Berlin-based club but he too earns too much for Hertha’s wage bill.

Perisic has been utilised mainly as a left wing-back for Inter this season but has on occasion been deployed as a second striker in matches.

This season the 31-year-old, who is contracted to the club until the end of next season, has made 24 appearances, in which he has scored two goal and provided three assists for Antonio Conte’s side.
