Paris Saint-Germain are optimistic about signing winger Angel Di Maria to a new contract despite interest from elsewhere in his services, according to French media reports today.

As per L’Equipe, Inter, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in the Argentine international but barring any surprises, Di Maria will continue with the reigning French champions.

The 32-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season and he would like to extend his deal by another two years in order to allow him to finish his career in Europe.

While there is distance between what the player wants in terms of salary and what the club are prepared to give him, these differences should not derail negotiations given the two sides have a shared desire to carry on together and there is optimism that things could be quickly sorted out.

This season Di Maria has four goals and 10 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
