Inter met with Alessandro Bastoni’s agent today for further talks over a new contract, according to an Italian media report today.

As per FCInterNews.it, Bastoni’s agent Tulio Tinti met with Inter management at club headquarters this morning and Bastoni now appears ever closer to signing a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

Bastoni is currently under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2022-23 season and will reportedly see his salary doubled as part of the new deal.

The highly-rated central defender, whose good form was recently rewarded with his first appearances for the Italian national team, has cemented himself as one of the best young defenders on the planet and Inter understandably wish to keep a hold of him for as long as possible.

This season the former Atalanta player, who joined the club back in 2017, has made 22 appearances across all competitions, in which he has provided three assists for his teammates.
