BC Partners are nearly ready to make Inter owners Suning their first offer for the club and could begin negotiations in ‘a matter of days’, according to a report in the Italian media.
As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, it remains to be seen whether the British fund’s offer will immediately be for a majority stake, or if it will be for a minority stake with a view to taking control of the club in a short period of time, perhaps in one or two years.
The report assured that BC Partners were close to finishing their analysis of the Nerazzurri’s accounts and that the Chinese era at Inter is ‘virtually over’, because without being able to export capital from China to Europe it is impossible for Suning to continue to manage Inter.
As per what is circulating in some financial circles, a face-to-face meeting between BC Partners and Suning could be just a few days away, with a suggestion talks could take place in Europe around mid-February.
The report goes on to add that selling the club is not an easy decision for Inter president Steven Zhang, who will return to Milan for the meeting should they be staged there, given the strong bond he has created with the club and the city of Milan.
The Rome-based paper suggested the Scudetto could perhaps be Suning’s parting gift to the Nerazzurri, whom they have owned since 2016.
