Edin Dzeko would be more useful to Inter than Alexis Sanchez during the second half of the season, an Italian media report has argued today.

Inter are in talks with Roma over a remarkable last-minute swap deal, which would see Dzeko and Sanchez swap clubs on loan for the next six months.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Dzeko could play very well alongside either Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez to make the most out of his attacking characteristics, either joining one of them up front or playing as an advanced play-maker in behind them.

A Lautaro-Dzeko partnership could be like the Llorente-Tevez partnership that Antonio Conte had at Juventus, while a Lukaku-Dzeko partnership could precisely be the one that Inter have been missing and wanted in the summer of 2019.

One thing Inter would lose if they and Roma came to an agreement over a loan swap for Dzeko and Sanchez would be Sanchez and his ability to beat his man.

However, the Milanese publication argued that Inter aren’t a team built to play like that anyway.

Only Benevento and Spezia have completed fewer dribbles than the Nerazzurri in Serie A this season, and Sanchez has only completed less than half of his anyway, leading GdS to conclude Inter need Dzeko more than Sanchez.
