Antonio Conte: “It Is Unfair That Inter Must Face Fiorentina On Friday & It Benefits Juventus”

Inter coach Antonio Conte was critical of the decision to make his side face Fiorentina in Serie A on Friday, just days after taking on Juventus in the Coppa Italia.

The Nerazzurri face Juventus in the first leg of the Semi-Final on Tuesday before travelling to the Stadio Artemio Franchi for a league match on Friday evening. Inter will then conclude their Semi-Final tie with a trip to the Allianz Stadium on the following Tuesday.

Juventus, meanwhile, do not play in Serie A until Saturday, when they face Roma at home before welcoming Inter for the second leg three days later.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Inter’s league match against Benevento later today, Conte was critical of the decision to play a day earlier than the Bianconeri and felt it offered them an advantage.

“I don’t understand why we can’t also play on Saturday,” the 51-year-old argued. “I see no reason why our match can’t be moved too.”

Inter take on Benevento looking to maintain their charge for the Scudetto, as they start the day just two points off league leaders AC Milan.
