After his last gasp freekick secured victory in the Coppa Italia in midweek, Christian Eriksen will be rewarded with a starting berth in Inter’s Serie A match against Benevento today.
The Danish midfielder came off the bench against AC Milan in the Quarter-Final on Tuesday to rifle in the winner deep into stoppage time, completing a come-from-behind victory for Inter against their bitter rivals in a fiery encounter.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Eriksen is set to be given an opportunity to impress once more as Inter welcome Benevento to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Serie A.
Having struggled to make an impact since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur last January, the 28-year-old will replace Marcelo Brozovic in the centre of midfield, whilst Roberto Gagliardini is expected to join him in place of Arturo Vidal.
Elsewhere, Matteo Darmian drops to the bench as Achraf Hakimi returns at right-wing back and Andrea Ranocchia steps in at the heart of defence.
Striker Lautaro Martinez is expected to partner Romelu Lukaku up front in place of Alexis Sanchez.
