Inter still have time to re-sign their former striker Eder before the transfer window ends on Monday, a leading Italian journalist reported tonight.

The Nerazzurri were in talks with Roma today over a possible swap deal involving Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez, only for the move to fall through after the clubs failed to reach an agreement.

As per Enzo Bucchioni in his editorial for TuttoMercatoWeb, though, this does not mean Inter’s hopes of signing a new forward in January are over.

If Andrea Pinamonti leaves in the next 72 hours then the club could move to bring Eder back, in order to give Antonio Conte a more mobile alternative to Lautaro Martinez in attack.

Eder plays for Inter’s sister club FC Jiangsu, having moved there in the summer of 2018 after two seasons in Milan.

He scored 14 goals in 86 appearances for the Nerazzurri after joining in a last-minute deal from Sampdoria in January 2016.
