Inter’s Croatian international winger turned wing-back believes the Nerazzurri have to pay attention to Benevento’s counter-attacks he told Italian broadcaster moments ago.
Speaking to Inter TV, the former Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg player underlined that there are no easy opponents in the Serie A and that Benevento are no exception.
“In Italy all opponents are difficult to face if you don’t enter the match in a good way. Also, today depends on us, we have to get going well into the match, move the ball fast and pay attention to their counter attacks.”
Perisic was asked about the congested fixture list to which he replied that it should not be a problem for the Nerazzurri who were prepared well in advance that this would be the case in January and February.
“We know that the weeks between January and February are a difficult period for us but we are ready. We are doing well and the only thing that counts today is to win.”
Moments later Perisic was interviewed by Italian broadcaster DAZN where he was asked about how important the absence of Antonio Conte is, given he is serving a two match suspension.
“Marcelo Brozovic will be there, he talks alot. Just like Andrea Ranocchia, they will be the ones to talk.”
Ivan Perisic joined Inter in the summer of 2015 for a reported fee of €16 million from Wolfsburg and has since then featured 188 times across all competitions scoring 42 goals in the process.
The FIFA World Cup finalist from 2018 spent last season on loan with Bayern Munich where he conquered a continental treble.
Inter host Benevento at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district in Match Day 20 of the 2020/2021 Serie A season with kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET.
