Inter returned to winning ways in Serie A yesterday with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Benevento, and the win showcased their goalscoring prowess as a team.

A Riccardo Improta own goal set the Nerazzurri on their way to victory at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, before a Lautaro Martinez strike and Romelu Lukaku’s brace completed a comprehensive victory.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the four goals saw Inter catapulted into second place in the goalscoring charts of Europe’s top five leagues, as they moved on to 49 goals from just 20 matches.

With an average of almost 2.5 goals per game, Inter only trail German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich on 57 goals for the season.

Meanwhile, Inter are the only side in Serie A to boast two players to hit double digits for goals this term, as Lukaku’s brace took him on to 14 and Martinez netted his 10th of the campaign.

Antonio Conte’s side look to continue their push for the Scudetto when they visit Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Friday.
