Tensions Mount Between Inter Target Edin Dzeko & Roma, Italian Media Report

After seeing a move to Inter collapse on Friday, striker Edin Dzeko is growing increasingly frustrated at Roma.

The former Manchester City star is determined to leave the Giallorossi after a bitter dispute with coach Paulo Fonseca, and has been frozen out since a Coppa Italia exit to Spezia earlier this month.

Roma had hoped to offload him to Inter in an exchange of loans that would have seen Alexis Sanchez go the other way, but a failure to reach an agreement over wages contributed to the deal falling through.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, tension has extended beyond Fonseca and Dzeko is now in conflict with Roma President Dan Friedkin and the extended management team at the club.

Despite the Bosnian’s agent Alessandro Lucci attempting to revive the deal with Inter, a move away from the Stadio Olimpico is unlikely before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Roma will therefore look to reach a truce with Dzeko before moving him on at the end of the season.
