Alexis Sanchez will start for Inter tomorrow against Juventus just days after he came close to leaving the club for Roma, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Chilean will replace the suspended Romelu Lukaku in the starting line-up for the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, marking the end of a ‘rollercoaster’ few days.

Sanchez appeared to be on his way out of Inter on Thursday after he was involved in talks between Inter and Roma over a loan swap involving Edin Dzeko.

In the end, the two clubs could not agree a deal and Sanchez will stay with the Nerazzurri until at least the end of this season.

The former Manchester United forward would like to play more than he has lately and was even frustrated that there was no added time allocated at the end of Saturday’s win over Benevento, because he wanted more time to show off what he could do.

This season the 32-year-old has made 20 appearances, in which he has scored two goals and provided five assists for his teammates.
