BC Partners are unlikely to invest in Inter, a report in the Italian media confirmed this evening.
A source close to the private equity fund told FCInterNews.it that the firm’s exclusivity agreement to negotiate with the Nerazzurri’s owners Suning has expired and no offer has been made yet, although that is still expected to happen in the coming days.
BC Partners have completed their due diligence on Inter’s accounts but it turned out to be a ‘very difficult’ exercise, revealing that Inter’s current financial situation was more complicated than they had expected.
It now remains to be seen how Suning will respond if and when an offer is made, but given the distance between the parties’ valuations for Inter, FCIN said it was difficult to imagine there being positive developments.
A report elsewhere in the media on Monday claimed Suning had ended talks with BC Partners due to the difference in valuations, while another story said the Inter owners had suspended negotiations 10 days ago.
