Barring any sensational surprises, Inter’s January transfer window can be considered closed, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Nerazzurri have no activity planned before Monday’s deadline after talks with Roma over a loan swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Edin Dzeko collapsed.

Inter’s January transfer window has never really taken off in truth, with the only transfer window activity on either the incoming or outgoing front being Radja Nainggolan’s loan to Cagliari right at the beginning of the month.

Andrea Pinamonti has been heavily linked with a move away from the club and while he is in Bologna’s sights, the Milan-based publication assured the striker would be going nowhere.

Inter have well-documented liquidity problems and it has been widely reported that the club were working on a self-financing basis and with no funds having come in, the Nerazzurri could not splash the cash to bring in reinforcements.
