Inter coach Antonio Conte will not let Milan Skriniar leave the club this summer, according to an Italian media report.
As per CalcioMercato.com, Conte now considers the defender to be untouchable, despite having almost let Skriniar leave the club last summer.
Skriniar was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur after the Premier League club showed a keen interest, but now he has returned to being his former self and is once again a central figure in Inter’s plans.
Last season proved difficult for Skriniar as he struggled to get to grips with Conte’s three-man defence, but things have improved markedly this year and the 25-year-old is now a pillar at the back alongside Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.
Skriniar’s leadership skills have never been in question and, as the report highlighted, they were once again on display during last week’s Derby della Madonnina win against AC Milan, as he was one of few players who tried to calm Romelu Lukaku after his bust-up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Against Benevento on Saturday, meanwhile, Skriniar encouraged and guided the team in Conte’s absence while the Inter boss was serving a suspension.
