Samir Handanovic’s mistake which gifted Juventus their second goal against Inter is indefensible, according to noted Italian football journalist and Nerazzurri supporter Fabrizio Biasin.

During last night’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at San Siro, veteran goalkeeper and club captain Handanovic needlessly rushed out of goal and caused great confusion with Alessandro Bastoni.

Bastoni, in a bid not to be bundled over by Handanovic, turned right into the path of Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who managed to finish into an empty net from a rather difficult angle.

Inter lost the match 2-1 and now know that they must score at least two goals in the second leg if they wish to stand any chance at progressing into the final, where they would face either Atalanta or Napoli.

Handanovic has come in for a lot of criticism this season, having made several costly mistakes and Biasin took to Twitter to share his own criticism of the former Udinese shot-stopper.

He posted: “I would like to spare a good word for Samir Handanovic, a goalkeeper who has always given everything, a serious professional, a good man, a number 1 who…

“In fact, no, I can’t do it.

“Where were you going, to say hello to Ronaldo?

“Stay in goal for God’s sake, no?

“Come on!”
