Inter urgently need to sign a new goalkeeper to replace Samir Handanovic, an Italian media report has argued after last night’s Coppa Italia defeat to Juventus.

CalcioMercato.com claim that it is clear that Handanovic is no longer the shot-stopper that he once was and that the Nerazzurri must move on fast.

The Slovenian has served Inter well through the years but this year more and more mistakes have crept into his game and criticism of Handanovic has increased a lot.

His most recent mistake came in the 2-1 loss to Juve in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg on Tuesday, when he needlessly came rushing out and allowed Juventus to grab their second goal.

Current back-up goalkeeper Ionut Andrei Radu is not quite ready to step up and replace Handanovic yet, but it is clear that Inter will have to bring in someone else in the summer as it is no longer possible for them to postpone the signing of Handanovic’s long-term successor.

Inter have long been linked with a move for Udinese’s €30 million rated keeper Juan Musso, but the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the club to turn their attention to other targets.
