Juventus did not deserve to beat Inter in last night’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, at least according to noted Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti.

Inter took an early lead against their arch rivals at San Siro thanks to a goal from Lautaro Martinez, but two huge errors cost them two goals to Cristiano Ronaldo and Antonio Conte’s side would go on to lose the match 2-1.

The second leg of the tie is scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Turin and Inter must score at least two goals to stand any chance of making it to the final, where they would face either Atalanta or Napoli.

“Juventus did not deserve to win,” Sconcerti began his latest column which appeared in today’s print edition of Milanese news outlet Corriere della Sera.

“They scored two goals without having a real shot on goal.”

Sconcerti proceeded to express his thoughts on Inter’s performance in the match and pointed out the several chances that the Nerazzurri missed during the course of the game.

“Inter played a less lucid game but one of substance.

“They had two or three important chances after the beautiful goal that came from the combination of Alexis Sanchez, Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez.

“Perhaps this is the real negative note for Inter, they didn’t play badly.

“While Juventus have a higher quality, Inter are more of an efficient team.

“They are basically two teams that would need something more in order to be great but they are still the best, with the exception of AC Milan.”
