Inter have attracted the attention of an unnamed businessman in northern Italy who could make a bid to buy the club, according to a report in the Italian media.

As per Milano Finanza, via FCInter1908.it, the anonymous entrepreneur started examining the Nerazzurri’s financial situation on Sunday evening and could form a consortium with Interspac, a group of VIP Inter supporters looking to invest in the club on a minority basis.

Inter’s current owners Suning are looking to recoup all their investments in the club, which total close to €600 million since they bought a majority stake from Erick Thohir in the summer of 2016, and this could be a new option for the Chinese retail giant to sell up.

While it remains more likely that Inter are sold to an international fund, with numerous groups interested, the report from Milano Finanza said it must not be excluded that the club find a local solution such as this one.

Inter in any case can only benefit from widespread interest in the club, with FcInter1908 suggesting ‘a full blown international auction’ was being formed around the Nerazzurri.
