Antonio Conte Could Leave Inter In Summer Amid Ownership Change, Italian Media Claim

Antonio Conte’s future at Inter remains in doubt, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Conte wants to understand what the long-term future of the club will be amid a period of great uncertainty on a corporate and financial level.

Negotiations over the sale of Inter are underway but it is still too early to understand how things will turn out for the Nerazzurri, with Conte unsure if he would continue to be the first-team coach even if the club changes hands from Suning to someone else.

If Inter still have strong owners they could continue to focus on Conte, otherwise a separation is said to be the most logical outcome for all parties.

The Turin-based publication went on to reiterate that Conte is determined to lead Inter to Serie A title glory this season, despite having repeatedly stated in public that he has not been asked to win it by the club’s hierarchy.

After all, the report recalled, Conte took charge of Inter with the goal of returning them to the top of Italian football and to be the first team to stop Juventus’ nine-year dominance in Serie A.

Conte now only has the Scudetto to focus on this season, barring an impressive turnaround against Juve in next week’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg in Turin, confirming that the former Chelsea and Italy boss has always produced his best work in the league wherever he has been.
