BC Partners’ offer to buy into Inter with Suning could end up being worth more than €800 million, according to an Italian media report today.

Reports across the Italian media on Friday morning argued the British-based fund were unlikely to move too far from their initial €750 million valuation, which was thought to be the cause of talks breaking down with Suning late last week.

However, Milano Finanza have said the offer BC Partners submitted on Wednesday valued Inter at €800 million but could rise further.

The future increase would depend on capital gains made through player sales and their eventual desire to become majority shareholders at Inter.

This implies BC Partners have not yet made an offer to buy Inter, instead bidding initially for a minority stake in a partnership with Suning, contrary to other reports in Italy’s papers today.

Talks between Suning, who have owned Inter for the past four and a half years, and interested parties, of which there is no shortage, are described by MF as ongoing.
