Alexis Sanchez will have another chance to end to his lengthy goal drought when Inter take on Fiorentina tonight, according to a report in the Italian media.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, Sanchez will start alongside Romelu Lukaku at the Stadio Artemio Franchi with the Chilean suspended for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg at Juventus.

Sanchez scored just twice in 21 appearances for the Nerazzurri this season – 11 from the start and 10 as a substitute – with his last goal coming early in the 3-0 win away to Sassuolo on November 28.

The 32-year-old has gone 624 minutes in total since he last found the back of the net, leading Conte to publicly criticise his poor goal return following the Derby d’Italia defeat to Juve in midweek.

Sanchez didn’t get his name on the score-sheet during Inter’s reverse fixture with Fiorentina in September, but he did play a decisive role in their dramatic 4-3 victory by setting up Danilo D’Ambrosio for the winning goal.

The former Manchester United forward will be hoping to have a similar impact against Cesare Prandelli’s side this evening, with the Rome-based publication warning Sanchez’s lack of goals was becoming a serious problem for Conte.
