Inter midfielders Nicolo Barella and Arturo Vidal offered hugely contrasting performances during Inter’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina yesterday, Italian media claim.

The Nerazzurri moved top of Serie A with victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi courtesy of goals from Barella and Ivan Perisic, either side of half time.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the midfield displays of Barella and Vidal were almost complete opposites and this was reflected in their ratings after the final whistle.

Former Cagliari man Barella was given a 7.5 and named man of the match after his stunning strike, as well as another effort that forced a fine save from Bartlomiej Dragowski.

Vidal, meanwhile, was considered the weakest performer and only scored a 5.5 upon being substituted at the interval.

Elsewhere, Achraf Hakimi was given a 7 after laying on an assist for Perisic and was joined by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. Assistant coach Roberto Stellini, standing in for the suspended Antonio Conte, also received a 7.
