Despite being substituted at half-time of Inter’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina on Friday, midfielder Arturo Vidal is expected to be fit to face Lazio next weekend.

The Chile international was struck on the left knee in the first period of the Serie A victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and had to be withdrawn at the break, with Roberto Gagliardini taking his place in the second half.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, initial fears that Vidal suffered an injury have been tempered after the 32-year-old underwent medical tests yesterday, and the results have been positive for coach Antonio Conte.

The summer arrival from Barcelona is not expected to be ruled out for any length of time and could be available to face Lazio in Serie A next Sunday, as Inter welcome the Aquile to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Vidal is suspended for the Coppa Italia Semi-Final against former club Juventus on Tuesday and so will undergo a fitness programme this week to recover in time for the Lazio clash.
