Inter’s rumoured transfer target Rodrigo de Paul says he ‘closed the doors’ on all his suitors in January and will stay focused on Udinese until he leaves the club.

The Argentina international has long been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri, as well as Juventus, Leeds United and Liverpool.

However, De Paul insisted he immediately pledged his commitment to the club both last summer and in January despite intense speculation surrounding his future.

“I don’t know when my last day here will be, but until then I will give everything,” the 26-year-old explained to Udinese’s official club broadcaster Udinese TV last night.

“Even last summer and in January there was a lot of talk about me, but I immediately went to the club’s directors to say that I would not go anywhere.

“You can’t expect your teammates to fight with you if you don’t believe in the team, so I’ve closed the doors on everyone and we hope to continue like this.

“My daughter was born here and we’re about to have another child who will be Friulian, this region will always be part of my life and my heart.”

Inter were linked last week with a double transfer swoop from Udinese which would see them sign both De Paul and goalkeeper Juan Musso in the summer.

De Paul has been with his current employers since 2016 and is under contract with Udinese through to the end of the 2023-24 season.

This season, the former Racing Club player has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Luca Gotti’s side, in which he has contributed five goals and provided three assists.
