Nicolo Barella has become an irreplaceable player for Inter this season, according to one Italian newspaper report today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the newly turned 24-year-old is a total midfielder who must play in all games and fortunately for Inter he has extraordinary resilience.

Barella now knows how to manage certain moments in games better and has improved in several areas as a player, perhaps most notably in front of goal with three goals and 10 assists already this season.

He will be tasked with providing a degree of balance to the Nerazzurri’s midfield tonight, with Antonio Conte expected to pick Christian Eriksen alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Barella.

Barella will face Adrien Rabiot in a key midfield battle for tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

Barella, who joined Inter in the summer of 2019 from Cagliari, is under contract with Inter until 2024 and has been tipped by many to become captain of the club in the future.
