Inter’s ongoing off-field problems could cost them one of their key summer transfer targets, according to a report in the Italian media.

CalcioMercato.com report that Samir Handanovic’s inconsistent performances have pushed Inter toward looking for a replacement for him, with the club management identifying Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso as their preferred choice.

Inter have courted the Argentine national team shot-stopper for a long time, but everything could be jeopardise by the Nerazzurri’s financial problems, which means they are on standby in terms of contract renewals and making signings.

Musso is ready to make the step up to a big club like Inter, but the risk of seeing any potential deal vanish is real given Inter’s corporate problems.

Inter are not alone in having an interest in the former Racing Club player, either, with Roma also interested in adding him to their ranks.

Udinese want €30 million for Musso and if they drop their asking price the Giallorossi will make their move, otherwise they will go after Hellas Verona’s Marco Silvestri.
