Massimo Moratti was not impressed with Andrea Agnelli’s conduct during Tuesday’s Derby d’Italia.

The Juventus president is widely reported to have continuously insulted Inter boss Antonio Conte during their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg in Turin.

Conte was caught on camera showing his middle finger to Agnelli just before half-time at the Allianz Stadium, after being repeatedly provoked in the first half by Bianconeri players and officials.

“Conte and Agnelli? An old grudge reared its head,” former Nerazzurri owner and president Moratti argued in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli┬átoday.

“It wasn’t appreciable, but it can happen.

“When there is no more fans it is even more noticeable.”

“Personally, I have never insulted a Juventus coach.”

The Italian Football Federation have opened an investigation into the incidents in midweek, which could lead to punishments for Conte or Agnelli.

Rai Sport reporter Alessandro Antinelli, who was working on the game for the broadcaster, earlier revealed Juventus had fixed a camera on Conte throughout the match, potentially so they could release any unfavourable footage into the media should Conte let himself go at any point.

Moratti owned Inter between 1995 and 2013 and had a highly successful tenure as the club’s present and owner which included a historic treble win.
