Inter vice-president and former club captain Javier Zanetti took to Instagram on Thursday to recall a famous quote from Nerazzurri legend Giacinto Facchetti.
Zanetti joined Inter in 1995 from Banfield and played for the club up until his retirement in 2014, breaking the Nerazzurri’s record for the all-time number of appearances with no less than 858 across all competitions.
Facchetti, meanwhile, spent the entirety of his career with Inter between 1960 and 1978 and is regarded as one of the club’s greatest ever servants alongside Zanetti.
Zanetti shared an image featuring Fachetti’s quote: “There are days when it is easy to be an Interista, others when it is a duty and some when it is an honour.”
