Arturo Vidal is working hard to try and be at the disposal of Inter coach Antonio Conte for this weekend’s Serie A match at home to Lazio, according to an Italian newspaper report.

As per Tuttosport, the Chilean international’s injured knee hurts less but this does not necessarily mean that Conte will pick him from the first minute at San Siro on Sunday night.

Vidal wants to convince Conte he can count upon him and today’s training will be important in seeing whether Vidal has truly gotten over the problem sustained in last week’s match away to Fiorentina.

At the moment, Roberto Gagliardini has an advantage over Vidal when it comes to playing alongside Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic in Inter’s three-man midfield against Simone Inzaghi’s in-form Lazio.

This report would appear to suggest that Christian Eriksen, who started in Tuesday’s goalless draw away to Juventus in the Coppa Italia, is not being considered for a starting spot.
