Ex-Lazio & Inter Goalkeeper Ballotta: “Too Much Said On Conte-Agnelli Spat, Handanovic Still Gives Guarantees”

Former Inter goalkeeper Marco Ballotta believes the Italian FA’s investigation into Antonio Conte and Andrea Agnelli’s spat is pointless.

Speaking exclusively to FcInter1908 Ballotta shared his feelings on the Italian FA’s investigation into the Inter coach and his former employer.

Too much has already been said about it. Today there are too many cameras and inevitably everything that happens on the pitch comes to the surface.

“Something happened between Conte and Agnelli in the past, they left each other badly and in a match like this it felt like that something like this may arise.

“It was a bad show, but it must be contextualized and limited.

“The investigation of the Italian FA makes no sense and will certainly lead to nothing, like the argument between Ibrahimović and Lukaku” expressed Ballotta.

The altercation between Conte and Agnelli took place on Tuesday evening when Inter and Juventus faced off in the Allianz Stadium.

That game finished 0-0 but the first leg in the San Siro was a 2-1 defeat for Inter with the deciding goal being down to a Samir Handanovic error.

Nowadays, several teams have two goalkeepers that are up to par and I believe that Inter should also have two great players in that role.

“The hierarchies are then decided by the coach. Handanovic has had his bad moments, ups and downs, but he still gives some guarantees.

“They should talk to him too, maybe he is available to play the second role, I think not, but they know him” explained Ballotta.

Handanovic, who has been a long serving player for Inter is coming to what feels like the conclusion of his Inter days with some poor performances and an expiring contract in 2022.

Inter will be thinking to the future with some of the young players already in the squad and will be thinking about who may be best suited to fill Handanovic’s position in the sticks when he does eventually leave the Nerazzurri.
