Former Roma striker Nico Lopez believes it is a good thing that both Inter and AC Milan are back competing at the top once again.

Talking to Italian media outlet Minuti di Recpero, Lopez expressed his joy at seeing both Milan clubs back among the big time.

I like watching football in general, and therefore I also follow Italian football.

“With the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus I think the Bianconeri have a great starting advantage over all the others.

“But this year Inter and Milan are doing really well and I am very pleased that two great clubs like these are back in able to compete for trophies” expressed the former Hellas Verona striker.

On his time in Italy Lopez said: “The team of my heart is Roma, because it was the first team where I played, because it is where I learned to speak Italian.

“Because it is where it all started but I also have good memories with Verona and Udinese, it is difficult to choose just one.

With Verona maybe I got some more satisfaction, having scored very good and important goals against great teams and this was very nice for me.

“Being able to score against teams like Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter and AC Milan is something that remains with you” declared Lopez

Lopez, now playing his trade in Mexico expressed the thoughts of many football fans around the world in seeing Inter and AC Milan back where they belong.

Both clubs fighting for the Scudetto as well as both having started the season in European competitions brings football fans back to the Inter and AC Milan of days gone by.

It is too early to start comparing AC Milan and Inter to their previous teams of the 2000’s but things at the moment seem a lot more promising than they have for the previous decade for the two clubs.
