Inter captain Samir Handanovic will play his 500th Serie A game tomorrow but Inter are looking at goalkeepers for the future, Italian media claim.

According to todays print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are beginning the search for a new goalkeeper as Handanovic reaches career milestone.

Handanovic has been an ever present name on Inter’s team sheet since his move from Udinese in 2012 and has been a firm captain for the Nerazzurri since taking the armband from Mauro Icardi in early 2019.

However Handanovic’s contract will expire next year and with the Slovenian not getting any younger, Inter begin the search for his long term successor.

Inter do have young goalkeepers currently on the books that could prove to be the captains successor.

Brazilian Gabriel Brazao currently on loan at Real Oviedo in Spain, Dejan Stankovic’s son Filip and current third choice first team goalkeeper Andrei Radu who is still only 23 years old.

Outside of the ones already on the books Inter are reported to be looking at Juan Musso of Udinese, Alessio Cragno of Cagliari and Alex Meret of Napoli.
